The Breeder of Merit Program honors breeder/exhibitors' dedication and hard work as they continue to produce dogs that are healthy, capable, and beautiful.
Enchanted Briards is proud to be part of it.
Welcome to Enchanted Briards on the web. We are glad you could come for a visit and hope you will learn something about Enchanted Briards.
We take pride in our Briards. They are not only beautiful conformationally, but they also work very hard. Whether they are herding, doing agility or obedience work, they have the brains to do all I ask of them, and have passed it on through their genes.
While you are here, please take a look at the accomplishments of our Briards. If you are interested in learning more about herding with your Briard, then this is the place! We will be adding teaching files for you to download. From time to time we will add some herding videos and let you know about clinics that I will be teaching or you can
We occasionally have a litter of puppies to offer- though we carefully screen prospective owners. We do this because while Briards are very cute and engaging, Briards are certainly NOT for everyone. We do encourage you to learn more about them by reading our pages or visiting our friends sites.
I began my career in Briards in 1985 while living in Los Angeles, California. I was working as a costume designer on a motion picture when the Producer approached me, reporting that his big woolly sheep dog was constantly purloining tennis balls and leaping with them into the family swimming pool. He knew I lived on 11 acres in the country and that we bred and raised Quarter Horses. He asked if I could please take this ball-thief off of his hands, give the dog a home with room to romp, which would then allow him and his friends to finally complete a tennis game.
Envisioning a big, Old English sheep dog, I thought about it and since my two dogs, a German Shepherd and an Aussie, were aging, I told the Producer, sure, let me meet him.

After many years of "brown" in New Mexico, my husband, Steve and I decided to also go "green" , and bought a 34 acre horse farm outside Lexington in the heart of horse country, transported the horses, bought new sheep and moved into the old farmhouse while building a new house. We will be back and forth between New Mexico and Kentucky enjoying the best of both states.
